Thanks to IBM for inviting our Founding Chairman, Dr. Toa CHARM, to participate in a panel discussion on data readiness for innovative AI applications at the #IBM HK Technology Forum. Joining him on the panel were Edwin Hui from Hang Seng Bank, Arthur Wong from Alpha Sense, and Connie Yuen from Shue Yan University, with Kayton KK Wan from IBM serving as the moderator.
My view on data readiness is not just about the data and technologies. It’s about how ready our data is for users to create business value and solve their problems. If the data were not ready for them to solve business problems, users are in the best position to provide feedback to the data and IT teams to prioritize and get that data ready.
AI and data projects are a team sport. It takes more than just the IT and data teams to deliver the best possible ROI for these initiatives. When everyone in the company has good data literacy, we have a common language and mindset to play that team sport well. Eventually the team wins, and everyone is happy.
