Thank you to Kornerstone for inviting our Founding Chairman, Dr. Toa CHARM, to join the 9th Cloud Forum. It was a fantastic opportunity to have a fireside chat with Dr. Miles Wen, the Founder and CEO of #FanoLabs, one of the pioneering #AI #startups in Hong Kong. After nearly a decade of entrepreneurial journey, FanoLabs has emerged as a leading AI company in Hong Kong, serving clients across major cities in Asia. Witnessing their growth has been inspiring, and they have become a role model for many other startups in the region.
The main theme of our discussion was Human-AI Collaboration. Miles shared his experiences in overcoming both technical challenges as well as issues on the client side, involving both technical and people-related aspects.
We also conducted two live polls with the over 300 audience members today, regarding the adoption of Generative AI and the key factors blocking them from using GenAI.
Key Findings on hashtagGenAI Adoption:
1. 55% of GenAI usage is for personal use only.
2. Only 10% of audiences have deployed both internal and external GenAI applications.
Major Concerns:
1. 47% are concerned about Data Privacy and Security.
2. 26% are concerned about Accuracy and Hallucination.
This aligns with the trends observed in Hong Kong. In order to increase GenAI adoption, especially for external use, we need to find effective ways to overcome these key challenges around data privacy, security, accuracy, and potential hallucination issues. Experimenting and identifying use cases have been proven to be effective. Certainly, data governance also needs to be in place with human in the loop.
The topic of Human-AI Collaboration will go on and on in the next few years across all functions in all industries. The best way to cope with them is to keep unlearn and relearn with innovative, agile and critical thinking mindset. AI and Data Literacy has become a must for everyone, not just IT and Data experts.
